NEI Receives 2008 Communications Solutions Product of the Year Award for Outstanding Innovation

NEI Smart Services Recognized for Outstanding Innovation

Canton, Mass. - June 8, 2009 - NEI (NASDAQ: NENG), a leading provider of application platforms, appliances and support services for software developers, OEMs and service providers worldwide, announced today that Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC) has named NEI Smart Services the recipient of a 2008 Communications Solutions Product of the Year Award.

NEI’s Smart Services provides complete platform remote management and appliance update services that automate health monitoring, patch deliveries, OS updates and image backups of deployed systems. Two key components offered under NEI’s Smart Services – ACE Element Management and ACE Update Services –are designed to ensure high availability, improve lifecycle management and drive new service revenues.
